lf you love mysteries, then you'll love meeting my mystery author friends! This month I'm excited to introduce you to Sharon Marchisello, yet another awesome Level Bestie with me and author of TRAP, NEUTER, DIE, the first in the Deelo Myer Cat Rescue Mystery Series. About Trap, Neuter, Die:

DeeLo Myer, newly transplanted from Los Angeles to Pecan Point, Georgia, gets sentenced to forty hours of community service with the local humane society. She’s paired with the judgmental Catherine Foster, a Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) guru who prefers feral cats to people. During DeeLo's first night on duty, she and Catherine are led by a cat to the strangled body of a local bookstore owner.

The cop who investigates seems less concerned with solving a homicide than with Catherine’s violation of an antiquated animal ordinance rendering TNVR illegal. The following evening, when he arrests Catherine for violating the said ordinance, and then holds her as a suspect in the murder, DeeLo vows to prove Catherine’s innocence and get the ridiculous law changed. How hard could it be? She enlists her boyfriend/boss and the resources of his law office. Her quest for justice and legislative change leads her to high-profile members of the community, some of whom have motives for murder.

Tell us the name of your main characters. If you had to describe them in only three words, what would they be?

DeeLo Myer: accidental cat rescuer

Is there something your protagonist can't live without? What and why?

DeeLo loves her cat Manny. He's an excellent judge of character.

Who would play your character in the tv/movie version of your book?

Amanda Seyfried

Does your sleuth have a pet? If so, what's their name and animal type? If not, what kind of pet would they love to have?

Yes, she adopted Manny, the bookstore cat, after his owner was murdered. Manny's former owner took him to a memory care facility as a therapy cat. When DeeLo tries to follow in her footsteps, disaster ensues.

If your sleuth was giving a tour of your town/setting, where would they take the reader to first? Why did they choose that spot?

She would probably take them to Leonardo's restaurant for some good Italian food. She'd insist they sit on the patio overlooking the nature preserve.

Any other fun things we should know?

I hope people will learn something about pet overpopulation and Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return as a way to help control it. But I also want them to enjoy the mystery.

Now, let's find out a little about you! Who or what first inspired you to write mysteries?

I had a professor at USC who encouraged me to write mysteries, although I didn't try one until several years later.

Where do you do most of your writing? Do you have any rituals or must-haves?

At home on my computer

Rapid fire questions!

Tea, coffee, or something else? Coffee in the morning; tea at other times; wine in the evenings

Cats, dogs, or another animal? Cats (but I also love dogs and many other animals)

Dream vacation spot? The Galapagos Islands

Favorite time to write: morning, afternoon, nighttime? Morning

A random fact about you that might surprise readers? I'm a Master Gardener, although you wouldn't know it if you looked at my yard

Lastly, where can readers connect with you?

I don't have a newsletter but I'm on Facebook. X, and Instagram.
