Ever since Korina Moss posted an adorable book nook based on her delightful cheesemonger cozy mystery series, I've been obsessed with building one of my own. So I ordered this kit for my birthday.
While I love writing, drawing, and painting, I'm not so great with 3D things, so this was definitely an experiment.

The finished book nook is below! This took probably 8 - 10 hours to assemble. I have to say I'm shocked with myself for having completed this project, especially so quickly. Sure, I do tend to work fast, but this was meticulous and detail oriented -- neither of which is my strong suit.

I really enjoyed putting together this kit. (If you'd like to do it too, you can get one here) I could see my main character Juniper Blume using one to relax in between her work as a rare books librarian and solving crimes in her small Chesapeake Bay town of Rose Mallow. If you'd like to find out more about Juniper discovering books and bodies where they don't belong, check out Crime and Parchment (Level Best Books and Blackstone Audio, 2023).
Daphne Silver is the author of Crime and Parchment, the first book in the Rare Books Cozy Mystery Series from Level Best Books and Blackstone Audio. Follow her on Facebook and Instagram. When you sign up for her newsletter, you'll get the free short story "A Midsummer's Night Scheme."
